Saundra Bishop
MS, BCBA, LBA, CCTP, Founder CEO, and Clinical Director of BASICS ABA Therapy
Saundra Bishop, MS, BCBA, LBA, CCTP, is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Since 2010, she has served as the founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of Beyond the BASICS. She began her work in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2002 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2009.

Saundra also served as President of her local professional chapter, DC ABA. She is widely recognized for her work in Trauma-Informed Behavior Management and for advancing approaches that prioritize self-advocacy over compliance for children with and without special needs.
​
A sought-after speaker and trainer, Saundra is certified to provide continuing education for BCBAs, DC Public Schools, and foster parents. She is frequently invited to present at conferences, school districts, private organizations, and agencies, delivered a series of workshops for a division of the Department of Education in Canada, and has delivered a number of Keynote Addresses.

She is the author of The Trauma Informed Behavior Management Handbook, a resource that guides providers in developing trauma-informed treatment plans. Her expertise has also been featured across multiple podcasts, where she discusses her clinical series, webinars, and work with families.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Saundra was a foster parent for seven years and is the parent of four children, both with and without special needs, three of whom are adopted. Outside of her work, she enjoys competitive storytelling and bike riding.
