Saundra Bishop, MS, BCBA, LBA, CCTP is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She is the founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of Beyond the BASICS which she has run for over 13 years. She is also President of the local chapter of the her professional organization DC ABA. She has over 20 years of experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis and has been a BCBA for over 13 years. She is especially passionate about Trauma-Informed Behavior Management and models that focus on self advocacy rather than compliance applied to children with and without special needs. She is certified to give trainings that qualify for continuing education credits for BCBAs, DCPS, and foster parents. She is often hired to give trainings at conferences, to school districts, private companies, and various organizations. She recently gave a series of workshops for a division of the Department of Education in Canada. She has written and self published an incredibly popular handbook called The Trauma Informed Behavior Management Handbook that walks providers through the steps of creating a trauma informed treatment plan. You can hear her speak about her webinars, her Trauma Informed Behavior Management Clinical Series, and her work with families on several podcasts (she did 8 last year!) In addition to all of this, she was a foster parent for 7 years and has 4 children with and without special needs (3 who are adopted). She also loves competitive storytelling and bike riding.
